Antenatal Clinic

Wednesday 9.45 - 11.45am
Patients are seen by the midwife at the clinics by appointment.

Baby Clinic

Monday 1.00 - 3.00pm
The baby clinics are run by Nurse McBride, Dr Hughes and Dr Grocutt for child development checks and immunisations.
The health visitor is available at Allenscroft Children's Centre.

Diabetic Clinic

Tuesday 9.30am - 12.30pm and 1.30 - 5.00pm
This is run by practice nurse Helen McBride in conjunction with Dr Watson, by appointment only.

Family Planning

Contraceptive care is provided by all doctors and Nurse McBride during normal surgery hours. Dr Watson can provide contraceptive implants and intra-uterine devices (coils).

Minor Surgery

Thursday 2.00 - 4.00pm
Dr Watson carries out minor surgical procedures by appointment and the doctors will be happy to advise you on this.

Non NHS Examinations

The doctors are happy to carry out medicals, eg insurance and driving licence, by appointment outside of surgery hours. Please telephone the surgery for an appointment. The fees charged for these services are in line with the BMA recommendations.

Counselling

A community mental health practitioner is available on Thursday afternoon. Please book an appointment at reception.

Travel Immunisation / Vaccinations

Please make an appointment at least two weeks prior to your holiday to ensure adequate cover. A charge will be made for certain immunisations and vaccinations which are not covered by the NHS. A list of these charges is held at reception.

Yellow Fever Vaccinations

Old Priory Surgery is an authorised Yellow Vaccination Centre.

Flu Vaccination

An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes and residents of nursing and rest homes. Please contact the reception staff in September for details of the vaccination dates and to make an appointment. If you are unable to attend the surgery, a home visit will be arranged to undertake this facility.

Smoking Cessation Clinics

The surgery offers a smoking cessation service run by the health care assistants, in conjunction with the doctors.
